List of the Best Houston Rappers

The legendary city of Houston has produced a number of artist that will go down in history as Houston hip hop pioneered and helped expand the music within the south.

From the numerous of Houston rappers in the legendary Screwed Up Click to the Geto Boys with Scarface to the Swisha House who brought the light to the city during the 2000s.

While the history of Houston includes numerous of people like DJ Screw, founder of S.U.C, who helped pioneer various artist out of the city’s South Side like Lil Keke, Big Moe, Fat Pat, Big Hawk, Lil Flip, Z-Ro, ESG and many more.

One of the first southern groups to ever come out, the Geto Boys, were under Rap-A-Lot’s brand which was headed by J Prince, an entrepreneur that help many other southern executives and artists get in the game themselves with his blessing and knowledge.

On the city’s North Side, Swisha House, spearheaded by DJ Michael “5000” Watts and OG Ron C, lead the wave of the Houston hip hop scene during the early 2000s with the breakout song “Still Tippin'” and artist like Mike Jones, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire, and Slim Thug.
